I can see a lot of life in you. |

I’m not so great at this keeping up with this tumblr thing, but anyway..
To explain my picture above, those are our b-nans (bananas)! A while ago I went and purchased a blender and several of those baby food freezer containers and trays you see above. I have really enjoyed making Elliot’s food, and all of it tastes so good and so fresh, too. I must admit that after making oodles of pureed avocado, which Elliot really hated, I ended up thawing and eating the rest of the avocado with some chips (mmm). I know, right? What a super gross and icky mom thing to do. I just adore those little containers, and thought I’d share in case you too are quite odd and small plastic containers with assorted fruit and vegetable designs just make your day.
Elliot has been such an awesome and very active little guy lately. He has been crawling like a pro for a while now and recently he started pulling himself up onto everything/everyone. He’s got some pretty decent balance, too. He likes to stand and hold himself with only one hand fixed, as he bats at stuff and acts like the strange little creature he is with the other hand. He has been mimicking my noises and says “mama” on occasion, though he has no idea what he is saying. He is getting really good with his m, p and b noises, which of course is annoying for his daddy (no “dada” quite yet).
I started school in January and so Elliot has been going to (and really loving) daycare twice a week. He has lots of little buddies there and he has a designated teacher names Miss Leslie, who does his diaper changes and feedings, and he seems to love her very much. Luckily, I just started a night job working from home so that I am able to actually make money instead of throwing it all into childcare expenses, while also maximizing my time spent with Elliot. This also means that I have enough money to designate some nights as “fancy dinner nights”, meaning that I eat something other than Ramen. Tonight I had an Amy’s Mexican casserole. Weekends around here are just crazy.
I am happy; I love Elliot and school, and I like my little bit of money, too. To my ladies out there, you should sign yourself up for a feminist theory class if you haven’t already. This class quickly became my favorite and though some things we discuss are pretty obvious, my mind has been blown by some of the discussions we have had. Learning about the subordinate position of women in our society may not be super fun, but it is a very interesting and I think a very important set of issues to understand. I don’t know who I am writing to, as I don’t think anyone reads this. If you are reading, thanks, and have a nice night! It’s definitely bedtime for this old lady.
